Tip of the Week: New Year’s Resolutions
Over the long weekend, my family and I were talking about making a New Year’s Resolution for 2012. We discussed eating less fast food, exercising more and stopping a couple of other “bad” habits. The more we talked, it reinforced that these are exactly the benefits of the Family Table initiative.
I resolved to make eating at our dining room table a bigger priority. We’re guilty of eating at the counter, in front of the TV and even in the car. Research shows that eating at the table, just three times per week helps you make better, healthier choices. So we decided that in 2012, our family will sit down together at least 3 times a week. And, since it’s on my calendar, it should happen!
Pass on our tips to your clients or students, or use them in your newsletter. For more information on Family Meals, go to www.FamilyTableOnline.org.
Need a visual reminder to help make your new resolution a habit? Find a sheet of calendar labels (like those in our picture above) on our Facebook page and print them to remind everyone in your home that sitting down together is a priority. Or, come by the McMillen Centerand we’ll give you some.
