Tip of the Week: Summer Festivals
Summer is the time of year to get outside and enjoy the fresh air! One of the best ways to do this is by attending one of our area’s fine summer festivals. I always find that spending time walking through the wonderful festivals can create a special time for family togetherness. Festivals can provide great exercise, fantastic food, and many creative arts to view and stimulate the mind. You might even want to buy a piece of art to spruce up your home and to remember the day!
One of my favorite festivals to go to every year is the Three Rivers Festival. My family and I always go to the opening day parade and then head downtown to get a bite to eat for lunch from one of the vendors. We do also find ourselves downtown at many of the other events throughout the week as well. The Three Rivers Festival runs for a little over a week with many different activities that run from morning to night. These activities include: Art in the Park, Children’s Fest, Crafters Market, Food Alley, Sidewalk Chalk Contest, Downtown Midway (Amusement Rides), Raft Race, International Village, and finally the Firework Finale to end the festival.
So remember your sunscreen, get outside, and have some fun this summer enjoying a festival with friends and family!
